The 2023 Shoot List

Boudoir

The idea behind the Leather and lace portfolio is to mix and explore a boudoir look (lace) with harder elements of BDSM and fetish (leather). It would be amazing to plan a few shoots that focus on form, posing, and lighting shot in a variety of places and environments. I am constantly gathering inspiration as I lean, I hope to use 2023 as a year to build my style and look while creating images that are more than just a “nice” photo. The list below are ideas in their beginning stage, instead of being rigid in my shoot designs I try to stay flexible so that I am free to create with others.

Latex

A shoot that highlights latex as the main clothing style for the shoot. The latex material photographs super well and can make such a bold statement. It would be interesting to explore with different styles and designers showcasing different types of latex. Most of the colors used in latex work well for pairing with backgrounds and back drops, there is also semi transparent latex that does a great job at showing off figure. A few latex companies that caught my attention are Libadex and Ladylucylatex but I am always open to working with other creators.

Couples

It would be amazing to do a couples boudoir themed shoot or a couples shoot that explores a power dynamic. There is so much that can be done with framing and posing when working with two people. One interesting idea I had for this topic is to photograph the power exchange between a couple by working with framing and posing. This idea could be targeted towards the softer boudoir style, or it could be done in a manner that explores the dynamic between a Top and Bottom or Sub and Dominant.

Shibari

I have had the pleasure of working with an amazing rigger in 2022 and I would love to carry this into 2023. I would like to work with more riggers and rope bottoms to capture the beauty of rope work. I am not super picky and am looking to capture anything from decretive rope work harder suspension work. I have not had the opportunity to photograph suspension work and I think it would be amazing to photograph someone suspended in an interesting “environment”. (What I mean by environment is a natural or manmade location that photographs well and adds to the story of the image).

Armbinder & Boots

I would love to combine an amazing pair of heels or long boots with a leather arm binder in a dramatic photo. The goal of the photo would be to create an image that shows the vulnerability of pairing tall footwear without having the control of the hands. I haven’t nailed down exactly how I would like to capture this but I hope to compose the lighting in a way that is dramatic and highlights the figure. I would love to shoot this look with either a cyc wall or in an industrial concrete environment that allows for the subject to be further away from the camera.

A Leather Portrait

Continue to build upon the “Leather Portrait” concept. I would like to continue to work with leather designers and models to highlight more creators and build upon this theme. There are so many different types of eyes and this project is amazing for showing off that concept. A few leather creators I hope to work with this year are Tiedside and Relentless leather however as I learn more about leather I am learning that there are so many other leather creators who I would love to work with.
