Photoshoot

I had the opportunity to work with Mila in Chicago earlier this year. When planning the shoot I gave Mila a few ideas of what I was trying to create but she did all the work picking out the outfits to match the style. I always try to work out the details for a shoot in advance, take good notes and provide details to the people that I am working with. One of the key details to all shoots is location. I had used the location once before for another shoot in the winter, the second time around using this location was summer and the lack of air conditioning was a surprise to both of us. This shoot was HOT, Chicago summer heat, locked windows and only one fan made this shoot scorching. Mila was a trooper though and powered through, I am very happy with how these images turned out. I hope I get to work with Mila again in the future.

I used a mix of digital and film to capture these images. I paired my Canon 6d with a vintage SMC 50mm for most of the images and also sprinkled in a bit of 35mm film into the mix. I wish I would have incorporated more film, maybe some medium format because I was blown away how good the film photos turned out compared to the same digital looks.
